Who We Are

Linwood Bovain grew up in Old Shandon. He knows these streets, these trees, and these neighborhoods. He started working in tree care right out of school and spent years learning from other local companies in the Columbia area.

In 2014, he started Elite Tree Removal of Columbia. He wanted to do the work his way — show up on time, be straight with people, and take care of the community he grew up in. That's still how we operate.

How We Work

Before anyone on our crew picks up a tool, everyone on site knows the plan. That includes our clients. Tree removal can be dangerous. We walk you through the timeframe, the risks, and the high-risk areas before we start. No surprises.

We move our equipment with care. Every step is planned to keep people and property safe. When the job is done, we clean up completely — no debris left behind, no mess for you to deal with.

From the first call to the final cleanup, you'll know exactly what to expect. What we quote is what you pay.

Our Crew

We run a crew of 5 to 10 people depending on the job. Bigger removals and storm work call for more hands — we scale up when the situation needs it. Nobody steps on site without knowing the job and what's expected of them.

We're licensed and insured. That protects you and us on every job we take.

What We're Known For

Three things come up most when people talk about our work: large tree removals, properties with multiple trees to remove, and post-storm response.

Large removals take planning. A big oak or pine near a house, fence, or driveway has to come down in sections — in the right order, with the right equipment. We've done hundreds of these across Columbia and the Midlands.

Some properties have three, five, or ten trees that all need to come down. That's a different kind of job. It takes the right crew size, a clear plan, and a clean way to get everything out without tearing up the yard.

After a storm, Columbia can be a mess fast. Downed trees, broken limbs, blocked driveways. We respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Fast storm response was one of the things Linwood felt was missing when he started this company. We've made it a priority ever since.
